The leadership of OICGambia on Friday led members of the National Assembly Select Committee on Government Projects on a site tour to the roads project being implemented in preparation for the 2022 OIC Heads of State Summit in The Gambia.
The tour followed a courtesy at the premises of the Secretariat where the MPs were briefed on the mandate, project activities and progress of the organization.
Despite the significant delays caused by the COVID19 pandemic, the Chief Executive Officer, Yankuba Dibba said the Secretariat is on track to deliver the projects on time. He added that construction work is projected to begin early next year.
“The 20 roads altogether are 50KM and are being funded by the Saudi Fund to the tune of $50 million” he said.
“We have already got the money and implementation has started with the design”.
